Brian A. Joyce has almost 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer, as well as providing counsel and successfully representing individuals, insurers, businesses, non-profits, and municipalities in a wide variety of civil matters in administrative bodies and courts, as well as in mediations and arbitrations. Attorney Joyce possesses knowledge in a broad range of legal matters; including labor and employment, insurance, state and municipal governance and finance, contract, tort, wage, regulatory, permitting, land use and zoning.
Attorney Joyce is a fierce advocate for his clients. His success prosecuting a wrongful death action against one of the world’s largest corporations was prominently featured in media outlets. He successfully argued that the federal court adopt new precedent to defeat summary judgment and obtained a significant settlement on behalf of a wrongfully terminated, highly compensated executive. He secured a seven figure settlement on behalf of a motorcyclist injured in an accident.
Attorney Joyce served 20 years in the Massachusetts legislature, including 19 years in the Massachusetts Senate, where he was Assistant Majority Leader. He also was Chair of the Senate Committees on Bonding, Bills in the Third Reading, Capital Expenditures and State Assets, Election Laws, Federal Financial Assistance, Housing, Public Service, Tourism, and the Special Committee to Improve Government. He was Vice Chair or a Member of the Ways and Means, Banking, Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, Elder Affairs, Healthcare Financing, Higher Education, and the Judiciary Committees.
Attorney Joyce is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and served as an Editor of the Law Review.
